Accountants to the Norwich Business Womens Network
The NBWN has been running for 21 years and this October we celebrated with a very special event.
In conjunction with WEETU, we hosted 'Inspiring Excellence’ on the 12th October 2011,
at The Assembly House, Norwich. Over 90 local business women came together to celebrate.
The day started with Mary-Jane and Lucy Hogg of WEETU being interviewed by Helen McDermott on BBC Radio Norfolk.
We enjoyed a drinks reception; provided by the Assembly House and the Music Room was beautifully decorated with flowers and balloons. The professional pianist Chris Barber entertained us thoughout - giving the event an amazing ambience- http://www.btinternet.com/~chrisbarber007/
One of our founding members, Rachel Higgs, opened the event - it was interesting to hear the origins of the network; 21 years ago the business market place was very different - the new Norwich Business Women's Network was ground breaking!
A splendid lunch was served by the Assembly House staff - our thanks to Richard Hughes.
The room was a buzz of chat and laughter.
Victoria Musgrave gave the Keynote speech- it was truly amazing and more than lived up to our title of 'Inspiring Excellence'. It was everything we had hoped; fun, entertaining and got us all thinking - a triumph - thank you Victoria.
Speeches were also made by the eminent local plastic and reconstructive Surgeon Elaine Sassoon- followed by Sue Dougal Chair of the board at Weetu. Mary-Jane concluded by offering thanks to the
committee and of course - you the membership. We sang Happy Birthday and the cake was expertly cut by Elaine. The cake was provided by Newsmakers PR.
Everyone received a party bag (filled by Lara)- with a sweet treat provided by Sally Porter.
The event was filmed by Committee member Hazel - we look forward to sharing this and the photos taken on this website.
The raffle was exceptional; prizes were a Retreat Day at Jarrolds, two bottles of Champagne (donated by Committee members Jackie & Jeanette) and the Top Prize - 6 separate prizes; each for two people, kindly donated by Inspire International courtesy of their MD, Gavin Drake, see their website : http://www.mind-span.co.uk/ the prize was given in association with Arnolds Estate Agents- and is worth £4000. (Winners have been notified and will collect their prizes)
An emotional and uplifting day - summing up the friendship and support provided by our network of
inspiring business women - here's to the next 21 years!
