In March we welcomed Professor Fiona Lettice as our speaker. She is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) and is responsible for developing and communicating the vision and strategy for all research and innovation activity across the University of East Anglia.

Fiona gave a very interesting talk on her career path. She was the first member of her family to attend University and studied at Cranfield, before working her way into industry, particularly manufacturing, working for companies like Centrica and BMW/Rover, whilst continuing to study and taking on a masters and PhD degree throughout her career.

Fiona reiterated the importance of networking and gave many great stories of how she has got to where she is today by taking time during her career to network and meet new people, as well as a little bit of luck along the way! It’s all about collaborative working!
